Kroto Innovation Centre - Background

Kroto Innovation Centre opened for business in January 2007 with support from the Objective 1 Programme for South Yorkshire (ERDF) and the University of Sheffield.

Kroto Innovation Centre provides clients with access to a dedicated team of professionals, with extensive experience and knowledge in supporting technology start-ups.

Kroto Innovation Centre has developed a network for emerging technologies which includes academics, entrepreneurs, business support agencies, investors and local, national and international intermediaries.

Kroto Innovation Centre is co-located with the National Centre for III-V Technologies based in the nanoscience & Technology Centre on North Campus

The EPSRC National Centre for III-V Technologies is internationally known for the production of state-of-the-art semiconductor epitaxy and device fabrication using III-V semiconductors.

The Centre provides clients and partners with access to world class expertise and facilities in the physical, engineering and biomedical sciences.  This includes services and support in state-of-the-art epitaxial materials and characterization, advanced technologies for device fabrication, and the provision of custom opto-electronic and electronic devices.
